At Hayden Recreation Centre, our Physical Education (P.E.) programs are designed to be inclusive, engaging, and most of all—FUN! We believe that every child, regardless of skill level, should have the opportunity to move, learn, and grow in a positive, supportive environment

Move, Play, and Grow with Hayden's P.E. Programs!

Basketball

From beginner drills to advanced gameplay, our basketball program teaches the fundamentals of dribbling, passing,shooting, and defense while emphasizing teamwork and strategy. Whether your child is new to the game or looking tosharpen their skills, they’ll gain confidence and have a blast on the court!

Archery

Patience, focus, and precision are key in archery! This exciting program teaches proper stance, aiming techniques, andsafety, helping kids develop coordination and self-discipline as they learn to hit the target.

Ninjas

Inspired by obstacle course challenges, our Ninja program builds strength, agility, and confidence through climbing, jumping, swinging, and balancing activities. Kids will test their speed and endurance as they tackle fun and creative obstacle courses!

Nugget Ninjas

Designed for our youngest athletes, Nugget Ninjas introduces fundamental motor skills, coordination, and balance in a playful and encouraging environment. Through creative movement, games, and mini obstacle courses, little ninjas gain confidence while staying active!

Soccer

Our soccer program teaches young athletes the essentials of dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork in a fun and engaging way. Whether learning the game for the first time or refining their footwork, players will enjoy the fast-paced excitement of soccer!

Tennis

Learn to serve, volley, and rally in our tennis program! Players develop coordination, hand-eye control, and strategic thinking while improving their strokes and footwork. Tennis is a great way to build athleticism while having fun on the court!

Youth/Adult/Member Parent Open Gym

Open Gym takes place in our basketball court and is available at scheduled times throughout the week for different groups, including youth (by age group), adults, and member/guardian sessions. During Open Gym, members are welcome to use our gym equipment and enjoy independent activities like shooting hoops, practicing skills, or joining a game of pick-up basketball — a frequent favorite!

Weight Room

Our weight room offers a no-frills, functional space for strength and cardio training. It includes 3 squat racks, a classic pulley machine system, a variety of free weights and kettlebells, and cardio options: a treadmill, elliptical and air bike. The space was refreshed in 2019 and provides a solid setup for all experience levels.
