Front Desk Receptionist
Recreation Centre & Ice Facility

Overview
Front Desk Receptionists are the first point of contact for our members and visitors. Responsibilities include greeting patrons, answering questions about memberships, programs, and facility policies, assisting with registrations using RecTrac, answering and directing phone calls, managing the front lobby, and providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
Previous customer service experience is preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Locker Room Attendant
Schedule
Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Friday, 3:45 PM to 6:15 PM
Flexible scheduling available.
Overview
Locker Room Attendants supervise participants, primarily from the Hayden After School program, before and after swim lessons. Responsibilities include taking attendance, helping participants change efficiently, ensuring belongings are stored properly, monitoring locker room safety, maintaining a clean and organized space, and assisting members as needed.
Qualifications
Comfortable working with children.
Responsible, dependable, and able to maintain a safe environment.

Assistant Gymnastics Instructor
Tuesday and Thursday Afternoons
Schedule
Tuesday from 4:00–7:00 PM and Thursday from 4:30–7:30 PM.
Overview
The Assistant Gymnastics Instructor works alongside the Gymnastics Instructor to provide a safe, positive and welcoming environment for participants. Responsibilities include supporting instruction in introductory and intermediate gymnastics skills, assisting with non-flight spotting and helping keep the gymnastics studio clean and organized.
Qualifications
Dance and/or gymnastics experience is required.
Candidates should be comfortable working with children of different ages and abilities and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Group Leader
Hayden After School & Josiah Hayden Pre-School
Schedule
Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 6:15 PM
Friday, 12:00 PM to 6:15 PM

Overview
Group Leaders supervise and engage children in a variety of recreational activities while creating a safe, welcoming, and positive environment. Hayden After School Group Leaders also assist with supervising students during transportation from local schools to the Recreation Centre.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Learn to Skate Coach/Instructor
Overview
Skating Instructors teach the fundamentals of skating through the U.S. Figure Skating Learn to Skate USA curriculum. Instructors provide safe, engaging, and positive instruction while promoting skill development, confidence, and a fun learning environment. Responsibilities include ensuring participant safety, communicating with parents and staff, assisting with class organization, and following program guidelines.

Assistant Swim Team Coach
Overview
The Hayden Dolphins Assistant Coach works under the supervision of the Head Coach and Aquatics Director to help provide a safe, supportive, and positive team environment. Responsibilities include assisting with practices, instructing swimmers in competitive strokes, supporting athlete development, and encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Competitive swimming experience required; leadership experience preferred.
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or equivalent) preferred.

Lifeguard
Morning, Afternoon and Evening Shifts
Schedule
Morning, afternoon and evening shifts are available on weekdays and weekends. Specific days and hours are flexible, and additional shifts may be available.
Overview
Lifeguards help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for members during aquatic programming and facility swim times. Responsibilities include supervising the pool, enforcing facility safety rules, responding to emergencies and providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification required.
Candidates interested in becoming certified or recertified are encouraged to apply. Training opportunities may be available.

Swim Instructor

Morning, afternoon and evening teaching opportunities may be available. Specific days and hours are flexible.
Overview
Swim Instructors provide safe, engaging and age-appropriate swim lessons for children of varying ages and skill levels. Responsibilities include teaching water safety and swimming skills, monitoring participant progress and creating a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications
Previous swim instruction experience is helpful but not required. Training is available for candidates who are comfortable in the water and interested in learning how to teach swim lessons.
Lifeguard certification is not required.

Part-Time Zamboni Operator
Hayden Ice Facility
Schedule
Thursday and Friday from 12:00 PM–5:00 PM. Additional weekday, weekend, and high school hockey game shifts may be available. Potential start date is Tuesday, September 8.
Overview
The Hayden Ice Facility is seeking a dependable Part-Time Zamboni Operator to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming ice facility. Responsibilities include operating the Zamboni during scheduled ice resurfaces, performing general cleaning and maintenance, moving hockey nets, and assisting with snow removal as needed. Training is provided for the right candidate.
Qualifications
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to pass a background check.
Candidates should be reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable assisting with general facility maintenance.
Pay
Starting at $20 per hour.

Lifeguards
Hours and availability vary throughout the year. Mornings, mid-day, afternoon, evenings, weekends, etc. Guarding duties include overseeing the pool for safety during lap swimming, youth swim classes, youth free swim, and swim clinic/team practices. Please contact CeCe Flores cflores@jwhayden.org
