Dance team is for the more advanced dancers who would like to challenge themselves and have the opportunity to compete at local dance competitions in the spring. Teams also take part in the annual spring dance recital. Dance team members MUST attend the two scheduled competitions that are set in mid-September. More detailed information will be given to team members when the teams are set.

We currently offer two Lyrical Teams for ages 10 & up and two Hip Hop teams for ages 9 & up. Teams are not selected based on age but what level a dancer is at and what individual dancers would work well together to make a great team. It takes hard work and dedication to be a part of the team but at the same time it’s very gratifying and lots of fun!

Try-outs are required for new and returning team members. Dancers will demonstrate skills across the floor and learn a combination led by the instructor. Dancers do not need to prepare anything for these try-outs. Families will receive an email a day or two after try-outs with results.

Registration for try-outs is REQUIRED this year. There is no fee to attend try-outs, but we do have limits to the number of students who can attend at one time. If we have a “wait-list” for try-outs, we will open up additional try-out times.
