Hayden's annual ice show | may 19th & 20th

Ice show rehearsals begin Saturday, March 17th

All skaters enrolled in learn to skate classes or in private lessons can participate. Groups for all skating levels from Snow Plow 1 thru Juvenile freestyle. Group placement by age and skating level. Each group rehearses once a week on Saturday for 30 minutes. Rehearsals will be held during the week of April school vacation. Those skaters who are taking vacation trips will be excused during that week. Please let the show director know if you will be away this week.

TOT CLASSES (Ages 4 to 5)

Our Snowplow Sam classes are divided into four progressive levels allowing children with no prior skating experience to build confidence while learning the basic skills of skating.  These classes are designed to help children six and younger develop the ABCs of movement.

BASIC BADGES 1-6 CLASSES (Grades K-12)

The Basic Skills teaches the FUNdamentals of ice skating.  Six progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns.   Completion of Basic 6 prepares skaters to advance to more specialized areas of skating. All classes will be well-structured with the focus on proper skill development taught in a positive, FUN, and social environment. Skaters will progress at their own rate and advance after skill mastery is demonstrated.

ADVANCED FREE SKATE BADGES

(Pre Free-6  Skaters must have passed Basic)

Transition to more serious figure skating through six Freestyle levels.  Skaters will learn increasingly difficult jumps, spins, footwork and spiral sequences, turns and edgework.  These levels will be taught in a positive and interactive group format as an introductory training program. Our instructors will focus on quality and mastery of skill while providing a fun and positive experience that will instill a lifelong love of skating.

ADULT CLASSES

Move from your first steps on the ice through more difficult maneuvers at your own pace, while building confidence and having fun. Participation in the program will help promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques. This is an exciting program for people who look to skating as an enjoyable part of a fit and healthy lifestyle.

CHILDREN’S ICE DANCE BADGES 1-5   (Skaters must have passed Basic 6)

The ice dance badge program focuses on the components of ice dancing and reviews the basic edges and turns while skating to music. Skaters will learn the first six dance patterns in the U. S. Figure Skating test structure. Dances may be skated solo or with a partner.

INTRO TO SYNCHRONIZED TEAM SKATING

(Must Be Lexington Resident)

This program is a fantastic way to introduce the team sport of synchronized skating to anyone participating in group lessons.  This class is ideal for those skaters who want to experience being part of a team.  As skaters advance through the various levels, they will learn how to form and transition properly between the five elements using varied handholds. They will demonstrate their synchro skills by exhibiting a basic program at the session end.

SUPER SKILLS FOR THE ADVANCED SKATER   

(Skaters must be in Freestyle 1)

This class expands on the skills taught in the Freeskate classes.  Taught in a group format using upbeat music and fun drills, skaters learn to use body movements and the blade more efficiently. Focusing on edge control and power, skaters get to refine the skills needed to be successful in both synchronized and freestyle skating.

ICE DANCE CLASSES – ALL AGES

Ice dance is a form of skating that came out of ballroom dancing, and still shares many of the same elements – but all done on ice!  If you love music, dancing, and ice skating – we help you discover the joy of ballroom dancing on ice. Ice dance is performed both with a partner and solo. Skaters learn the first six dance patterns in the U.S. Figure Skating test structure. It is great for freestylers, synchronized skaters, as well as skaters of all ages
