Competitive Swim Team - Class #10705
October 6 - March 14   Class Fee: $300.00

Should have ability of Red Cross Progressive Swim Level 5. Six years old should have ability of Level 3. Team tryouts for all participants (even if you have been on the team in the past) will be held September 22 - 25. Children ages 10 and under as of November 1st should report to the pool from 5:15 to 6:00 PM on September 22 and 24. All others report from 5:15 to 6:00 PM on September 23 & 25. The focus of the team will be to train for time improvement over the course of the season. There will be minimal attention to stroke development, therefore, all swimmers should have proper strokes prior to making the team. Names of those making the team will be posted at Hayden on September 30 at 1:00 PM. Class fees will not be accepted before this date. Swimmer must not be competing on another team during the Hayden season.

Lifeguard Training- Class #10706
Class Fee: $175.00 members, $230 non-members
February 3-5, 10-12 (4:00 to 9:00 PM) and a second course, May 12-14, 19-21 (4:00 pm to 9:00 pm). Candidate must be 15 years or older. Requirements: Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water with legs only, retrieve a 10-lb. object in 7 feet of water. CPR and first aid taught within the course. All classes are mandatory- no exceptions. (Includes all materials and Red Cross textbooks.)
       
WSI Certificate Course - Class #10708
Class Fee $230 members $280 non-members      
This class will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-9:00 PM, starting on March 24 and ending on April 30th. Classes will NOT take place on April 21 and April 23. You must be at least 16 years old and have the skill proficiency of Level 5 to take this course. There is a pre-course test on March 23 at 5:15 pm that participants must pass in order to remain in the class. The pre-course test includes water safety and swimming skills. Participants must also complete student teaching hours that can be worked out with the instructor and/or Aquatic Director after successfully passing the course.
