You can't draw on the walls at home but you can in "My 1st Art Class" at Hayden. This class allows children to explore different media used by artists. Children will make projects in an environment that fosters growth and creativity.

This is for the student who has already had a Hayden pottery class or who has experience making hand-built pottery. Complex techniques such as scoring + using "slip" to make projects + wheel throwing methods will be used.

We will expore a variety of art materials and textures with a focus on seasonal and holiday themes. Other projects may include; chinese paper dragon, box-y kangaroo, Asian elephant, tile-roofed house, galaxy mobile, and Japanese tea garden.

Come exercise your imagination! Choose from a room full of recycled materials and challenge yourself to re-use them in fun, creative ways. We’ll have books full of craft ideas or just come up with your own! This class is all about free choice.
Chess Club Beginners - Class # 10225

This is for kids who have always wanted to learn to play chess. Participants will learn the rules of the game, terms, the functions of each piece, and strategies to be successful. The last half of each class will be focused on game playing.

This class is for people who have chess experience and want to learn more advanced techniques. Participants will learn strategies such as the famous “win in 4 moves”, having the bishops work together, moving the king to center of the board and more. Each week participants compete against each other with the last two weeks of the session dedicated to tournament play..
Papier - Mache, Puppets, & Painting Class # 10233

We will use everyday materials and transform them into fantastic forms like animals, figures, puppets, masks, and goblets. We will then decorate them with paint, fabric or decoupage.
       
Kids Night Out!! (Parents Too) Class #10229 Grades K-6 Class Fee $15
Beginning October 7th      
On the first and third Friday of every month Hayden will be hosting Kids’ Night Out! Hayden members in grades K-6 are invited
to come down for a fun filled night of swimming, playtime in the gym, and activities in our game room. The program runs 6:15-
8:15 PM and is $15 per night. The fee also incluces two slices of pizza and a drink. Grab a swimsuit, towel, a friend and head
down the Centre. Hayden staff members supervise the evening.
       
Prepping for Pre-School Class #10250 Ages 2-3.5 Class Fee $80
This program is for Hayden members age 2 years to 3.5 years old. This is a great chance to learn to play with other children their
own age in a fun, relaxed environment. The children will participate in a range of activities that include crafts, music, movement,
group play and outdoor activities. If necessary, please pack spare diapers, wipes and change of clothes to keep at the Centre.

HIGH SCHOOL CO-ED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE Class #10645 SECTION A
Class Fee per Team $150 GRADES 9-12
November 2-December 21 Wednesdays 7:00-8:45 PM
Bring your team, bring your friends, and get on the court! Haydens co-ed high school volleyball league is for players of all levels and skills. Players on the floor must consist of at least two girls and may have up to four boys.
       

HAYDEN HELPERS
FOR HAYDEN MEMBERS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL
Do you think you might like to work with children? Are you interested in assisting Hayden staff
members with teaching classes in art, dance, gymnastics, physical education, or the pool? Then
we have the program for you. Hayden is offering middle school members a chance to volunteer
and work with us at the centre. There will be an application and interviewing process and a commitment
of 8 weeks (one session) at least one day a week. If you’re interested call or come by the
centre to fill out an application.

Session dates are as follows:
Session 1—September 12– October 31• Session 2 - November 2 – December 23
Session 3 - January 3 – February 18• Session 4 – February 27– April 14
Session 5 - April 23 - June 4
 
Birthday Parties at Hayden

 

 
Pool Party
For Hayden members age K& up. Maximum of 20 children (including birthday child).
Parties available Fridaysfrom 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Parties consist of 45 minutes in the pool and then 45 minutes in the Party Room for cake, food, presents, or whatever you choose to plan.
 
Gym Party
For Hayden members age 2 & up. Maximum of 20 children (including birthday child). Choose from soccer, basketball, capture the flag, movin' munchkins, mini bouncers, or other choices.
Parties available: Saturdays 12:00pm - 1:30pm and 1:15-2:45 PM
Parties consist of 45 minutes of an organized activity led by Hayden's physical education department staff. You may then use the Party Room (45 minutes) for cake, food, presents, or whatever you choose to plan.
